Reiki for Cancer Patients
Reiki is a type of energy healing, a stress reduction and relaxation technique that is used to encourage healing. Some studies have explored the effect of Reiki on patients who are undergoing cancer treatment concurrently. These studies have found that, although Reiki is not a substitute for cancer treatments, by using Reiki alongside their treatment may be beneficial to patients as they deal with the symptoms and stresses of cancer.
Reiki treatments can:
-
help you to feel deeply relaxed
-
help you cope with difficult situations
-
relieve emotional stress and tension
-
help to improve wellbeing

Some cancer patients say they feel more relaxed after having Reiki treatments. Although Reiki might help you feel more relaxed and able to cope, it’s important to bear in mind Reiki is not able to treat cancer.

Generally speaking, Reiki is safe for cancer patients and non invasive and cannot harm. It is advisable to rest and drink plenty of water after a Reiki treatment. It important to tell your doctor about any complementary therapy, holistic or alternative therapy as your doctor should always have a full picture about your care and treatments.

Reiki is used in hospices and many cancer centres around the world offer free Reiki treatments.

Here at The Sacred Space, I offer 4 x 30 minute free Reiki healing sessions for cancer patients.
Please note these sessions are in person and not distant. For distant healings please see Reiki Distant Healings page for bookings.
